Minneapolis offers a number of programs and resources to help teens in crisis. Whether you need shelter, medical care, counseling or another type of support, you’ll find help here.
The Bridge for Youth (Minneapolis)
The Bridge for Youth offers a variety of services, including a 24-hour crisis hotline. Teens can stay in the emergency shelter or find longer-term housing, and get help developing life and career skills. Services are available to young people and their families free of charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Face to Face (St. Paul)
Face to Face hosts SafeZone, a youth-friendly environment staffed by case managers and outreach workers. Teens can find emergency shelter, food, clothing and hygiene supplies. Get help finding permanent housing, and low-cost medical and mental health care.
Freeport West (Minneapolis)
Whether you need transitional housing or a permanent place to live, Freeport West can help. Other resources include meals, domestic violence support, career and education support and more.
Hope Street Catholic Charities (Minneapolis)
Find emergency shelter (ages 16-20) and transitional housing (ages 16-22). The community outreach program connects homeless youth ages 12-21 to helpful services in the Twin Cities.
The Link
Through The Link, the Lindquist Apartments provide permanent, sober, supportive housing for approximately 32 teens and young adults at a time. Residents develop skills necessary to live independently, such as cooking and money management.
Lutheran Social Services (St. Paul)
LSS has a number of programs to help runaway, homeless, and street-dependent teens. The Safe House provides emergency shelter for ages 16-20. Life Haven offers short-term housing to minor mothers and their children who are experiencing homelessness. Rezek House provides transitional housing in St. Paul for homeless youth ages 16-21.
St. Joseph's Home for Children - Catholic Charities (Minneapolis)
Assistance for young people includes an emergency shelter, a health clinic, day treatment, full-time residential treatment and mental health case management. St. Joe's specializes in crisis intervention and residential care, especially for children and teens with severe emotional and behavioral issues.
Youth & AIDS Project
This program offers HIV prevention education, free testing, and support for HIV-positive youth. The prevention program focuses on gay and bisexual males ages 13 to 24—currently one of the highest-risk groups for HIV and AIDS.

Youthlink helps homeless teens ages 14-21 through housing support services, crisis assistance, career/life transition planning and more. Whether you need a hot meal, shower, clothes or stable housing, Youthlink can help.
